When Brent walks away

I leave with him as few truly understand the economics of mining better than him.

this play has little to do with mining geology per se, Brent Cook's specialty, and expertise, and more to with financing and balance sheet. Brent Cooke knows little about phosphate mining in Peru.  He just doesnt want to wait this out. He may or may not be correct in selling at thses levels. it depends on many things outside the control of the company. if the markets improve for mining ...more

Wait things out?  Lol.  Yeah pigs will fly before someone writes them a 150 mil cheque for a lousy 17 percent return. In Peru!  Lol. The deal is over!

Thanksforplaying , amazing how civil this board was till you showed up with the bad news . On what planet is 17% a lousy return ?   If the deal is over why don`t you move on .

Let me explain it again to you.  17 percent return is a lousy potential return considering the risks.  Investing in Peru.  A mine that hasn't even broken ground.  Sector risk etc etc.  smart people don't invest in Peru, into a mine that hasn't even broken ground for 17 percent!  If someone wanted to make 17 percent over several years, they would buy a blue ...more

Some of your points are valid. Thanks. But IRR is not the actual return that investors would get after making an investment. If 17% is the actural return, as you claimed, then the NPV would be Zero. But the after-tax NPV is greater than $250 M. I agree with some investors here that FCV may consider selling their deposit. Big players are already in Bayovar, and this seems to be a chance for ...more

17% return in an open pit high-grade mining project with all the infrastructure in place. Risk-reward is better than that of DAN I dare say. They don't have to raise 150m. They will sell the deposit.

brent Cook panicked recently and had his clients dump AKG. The stock has recovered nicely and the mine is going ahead. Cook was promoting FCV when it traded around 0.30. If he's suggesting investors close this out below 0.10 with massive insider buying takng place, there is something he is not saying. It can't be economics only.   I am sure FCV will sell this deposit and I intend to ...more

Cook misjudged the entire play...he thought it would be a quick flip to a buyer or a strategic partner...he was wrong. He also thought they would have higher margins on their projected products, but, it appears the PFE didnt take into consideration much about the organic crop opportunbities, etc.   Cook also thinks Sprott may end up owning it!  lol
