Benzinga Presentation

Not sure if anyone else picked up this subtle nuance but midway through Craig's talk he mentions the possibility of swapping out expired/spent lithium batteries in EVs with their own batteries. Wow that could be a real game changer.

as well imagine the impact on the stock price if GMG announced a development deal with a Tesla or other large auto company to develop a car battery. Alternatively a more likely scenario could be a development plan with a cell phone company-- imagine these batteries in every new Apple iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch. If either of these panned out you could see this stock price shoot through $30 a share and honestly I think we could literally be only a few months away from such an announcement.

im ok weathering the day to day fluctuations as I have my eyes on the bigger prize. GLTA

Yes, the battery development is a big prize. We will not have an agreement before proof of concept, expected by year end, ie. operational pilot plant is there. That would be a big deal on its own, but the main development, probably will be next year, which is fine with me, because impact on s/p will sure be monumental or GMG will be bought out. Even before that, rising energy prices should make ...more

Battery swapping is a bit of a pipe dream to me. Battery Control and thermal management systems integration between battery chemistries is no easy feat. Forces either GMG or OEM to support. The economics doesn't appear to work. Current batteries offer 8 plus years of useful life and that is getting better all the time. Swap out market is very limited. Just an opinion

I think that, at this point, we are looking not to compete and replace Li battteries, but compete and replace ICE. As you memtioned, Li batteries did not reached their potential, solid state will make them even better. ICE on other hand is going down, but this is still giant market, about 93% of all cars; this is great news - a lot of space to expand for everyone. I believe, there will be several ...more

The battery swapping is intended as a life cycle enhancement tool- relies ten to the interview. This is a play to swap out lithium batteries in 3-5 years with the Aluminum type. Clearly this will be a huge market in 5 years when Li batteries in cars start failing before the chassis will thus creating a big new niche. That said it is longer term opportunity and more immediate is the thermal Product ...more

What life cycle is being enhanced? That of the EV? What is to stop the OEM from replacing a failing battery set with a new version of the same? That would be the least expensive route for the OEM and the consumer. There are very few batteries in new EVs that will require replacement in 3 to 5 years as most companies are now offering 5 year battery warranties. Aging batteries that warrant ...more

I am somewhat in the middle re. optimism in this discussion. I agree with SIMPLICIT1, replacement of Li batteries sounds far-fetched. Huynday offering 10 years battery guaratnee already. At the same time, "owe nothing" is another extreme. If you open Boeing B/S - they have negative equity, but 100B market cap. It is a race for big battery, first of all and GMG is in the middle of ...more

Neosceptic,  I think you misunderstood a portion of my post. My statement regarding ownership was a reference to GMG's IP Portfolio. Boeing had about 1500 patents registered in 2020 alone. I don't follow Boeing so I don't know or care about its balance sheet per se. I do know that they have a well established track record for the markets/industries they serve.  I too hope ...more

Yes, sure you are right - there is not much on Balance Sheet, including IP. Selling GMG, now, would be difficult. My point was only to demonstrate that Balance Sheets poorly represent companies' potentials, esepcially on initial development stages.  GMG, now, all about presence of Intellectual Capital, connections, knoweldge, etc.  IC is not on B/S. I think their pouch batteries more ...more

The BEV market is long lead time with OEM's making battery tech investments well ahead of their implementation in vehicles. This is usually measured in years (3 to 5) and begins AFTER the battery tech companies have gone some distance in proving out their tech.  This takes considerable sums of CASH which means that much more capital will need to be raised by GMG before any sort of BEV ...more

Yes, you are right, BEV or like graphene battery is not nearly here. Mass production would need considerable captial too. I do not expect GMG to become independent leader in this segment. If it happened, the captialization would reach 50-100B. I think present market is actually very patient to companies that promise to revolutionize an industry. Amazon did not get any profit until recently, but ...more

Remeber GMG has a suite of products, some are already being used worldwide. A major investment to access GMG technology has to be part of the 'plan'.
