Septa Agenda

big purchase of 220 40ft buses from New Flyer with an option for 120 more. Almost $180M. They will all be needing new camera systems. Delivery to start in 2022.

If Septa specified GSI equipment to be installed in that New Flyer contract then GSI's slice could be embedded in that $180m already. The contract could come from New Flyer rather than Septa.

@davewho great find and completely agree!   Gatekeeper will most likely post this sale once the transaction is approved by the SEPTA board on Oct 28th meeting.

Check NR Nov 18, 2018.  Gatekeeper was the vendor of choice for Septa when they purchased new diesel buses from NewFlyer, so wouldn't surprise me to see the same type of NR for this contract.  Another burrito...still wating for the enchilada contract.

Ramman1, I know you are in there somewhere. It points the way to Bethlehem. But judging by the posters on GSI, I think there will be more than 3 Wisemen showing up in the stable this time! Ha ha

Of course, the other possibility is that ALE will be installed on these new buses.  That would make the  most sense to install ALE on new equipment.  Would also help pay for these shiny new buses.  That would be a fairly large contract.  I believe we were told the ALE bid to Septa was aprox $20M if not mistaken.  Plus the additional cameras and standard equipment ...more
