Hello Friends, Shareholders and Investors,
As we have passed the end of June we would like to provide an update on our drilling program at Wayka. We were about to complete the mobilization of our drilling contractor with approximately 80%-90% of the materials having been delivered to the Wayka project area when work had to be suspended owing to external political factors that gripped the entire country of Ecuador. Protests and demonstrations as part of a national strike lead by the Confederation of Indigenous Nationalities began on June 13 and lasted for 18 days. The present situation is now returning to normal and while we had suspended operations during the protests, we are resuming operations in the coming days. It is still too early to estimate when drilling will start but rest assured that it is our top priority.
On a much more positive note, the local community in which we operate, continues to fully support our project and we hope that once the national issues are settled there will be opportunity to resume our exciting work including the drilling of Wayka.
We remain committed to bringing about a responsible exploration program that will benefit the local communities as well as our shareholders.
