educate me please

I am wondering if shares purchased after the record date (Augut19th) will count towards the dividend/buyout?

I have been told that in order to be able to vote at the AGM and be eligible for the dividend/buyout you have to have shares purchased before the record date.

I currently have shares purchased well before the record date but I am wondering if I buy anymore if those will count towards whatever this whale sells for.

Anyone know for sure?

Hello, The Date of record is ONLY for voting and admission to the AGM and after meeting. LME will likely never have a dividend. And any shares purchased now will be eligible if / when a buyout happens. There will be a cut off date eventually, but lots of time and news releases and voting and details to come between now and that date.
