I did some digging today (pun intended) but its very clear here that Minfocus and GreenBank are fighting around the Daniel’s Harbour Zinc mine. GreenBank owns 27% of Ubique Minerals Limited which is a zinc exploration company in the Daniel’s Harbour area (Newfoundland). Just looking at the Ubique Minerals “News” page you can see that GreenBank is an active shareholder with many of their management on Ubique’s board. With the help of GreenBank, Ubique owns 108 claims around the Daniel’s Harbour mine and the claims adjacent to Ubique’s are primiarly owened by another mining company called
Altius Resources. Here is where things get interesting. Kapuskasing Gold as you all know just gave a 100% interest of its 72 claims to Minfocus Exploration. They too are also in the Daniel’s Harbour area and oddly enough close to the
Altius Resources. The fact that both mining companies reported they are adjacent to Altius Resources makes me wonder how close these two projects are. Long story short both Kaspuskasing (Minfocus) and Ubique (GreenBank) are mining in the same area. I tried looking for a map that shows the individual mining companies but couldn’t find one, but I uploaded two separate maps where each mining company has claims in. You can see they are both reporting to be in the same vicinity.
Not sure what this exactly means, but best-case scenario, if Minfocus acquires Ubique’s claims as well they will have a strong hold on the Danie’s Harbour zinc mines. GreenBank might not have been too pleased with Minfocus acquiring Kapuskasing’s claims rather than Ubique’s.
Just my thoughts, and this research was done quickly so I could have missed something. As always, please do your own DD.
