Just a quick note, you're calculation for KM-24-12 is incorrect.  KM-24-01-12 20.77 25.98 5.21 214.97 Keats Main Trench Including 20.77 21.67 0.90 14.72 And  ...more

Have you ever seen rock with veins of quartz? How can you possibly tell the angle at which veins have been exposed at surface just by observation. And they will vary continuously likely. If it was as easy as you seem to believe then your comment would be valid. It is not, however, the case.

I see you're unfamiliar with how channel sampling works. It literally is that easy because you don't need to understand what the veins are doing at depth in order to calculate a true with in a channel sample on surface. You literally have the vein at your feet, look down, measure the width of the vein and compare it to the angle of the channel sample.  If the vein is trending North  ...more

good to have someone who knows their geology and mining methods. thanks explogeo

And if the vein is not vertical? How would you know the true width?
Comment by explogeo on Sep 24, 2024 4:19pm
The dip direction of the vein is irrelevant. You may be getting caught up on the complexity of the veining at depth and how it's very difficult to gauge the true thickness at depth with drill core. If you're sitting at a desk take your pencil and place it against the edge of your desk so only the eraser is level with your desk. Your pencil is the quartz vein (your eraser is the quartz ...more

Channel sampling is 2D.  It tells nothing about depth.  You have to extrapolate. The exposed subcrops are not flat.  You can tell the dips just by looking at them.  Like most Appleton North veins they are probably vertical to subvertical.

Just as reported, true widths estimated to be 70-95%.
