While we wait

While we waitThe mention by BC Hydro of power required towards Gitlaxt'aamiks (formerly New Aiyanish), probably is for the Lsi Lisims LNG project. BC Hydro's proposed new transmission line would provide the electricity. Don't know what role, if any the Hecate Strait wind project would play here.

If BC Hydro continues with its 200MW max in future power calls, the Hecate project can't particpiate due to its larger size requirements. Electricity for a dedicated offtaker(s) may be the way to go.

Back in 2010 a business case case was made for the offshore wind project. At that time, due to the large footprint, financing issues, ecologically and a culturally sensitive area, the project was voted off.

Now the footprint of the project is much less with the possibility of 20 MW turbines vs 3.5 MW 15 years ago.

I don't know what Elemental Energy has in mind. Business confidential in this competitive industry. I would like to see electricity produced by First Nations for First Nations and not necessarily exported to the grid. The grid would anyway probably have to be used for logisitics and cost savings.

The proposed transmission line will have to be the backup to wind. There were some questions as from where the power will be sourced. Site C comes to mine, but still more electricity will be required for other areas of the province. Importing comes to mind, but the States need their renewable energy to meet their own environmental goals. Washington and Oregon require such electricity.

Days of cheap electricity purchased by Powerex from the US are almost over.

I will visit the community where a curious event happened Oct 1, 2018. If anyone has me on their social media please advise. I can explain some things. I don't want to leave people to wondering forever. All events were beyond me, but orchestrated perfectly.

If put everything together, not only that night, most impressive. Noal Starblanket could have shed more light on this, but sadly he passed away. Some things I saw resonate with his observances. he had the courage to share his experiences. Rather difficult in this modern, rationally inclined world.

Triumph of Rationalism.
