B.C. releases list of 10 resource projects it plans to accelerate into action - Greater Victoria New

The list which was released above, shows wind projects will be accelerated. Easy to make the connection that any offshore proposal should also be looked at seriously.

There still is that confidential list of projects (29 of them in the NW region), all of who will require electricity.

"We're seeing significant potential growth in the area and have initiated projects to build new lines and twin the existing radial 500-kilovolt system between Prince George and Terrace to meet these significant new loads," said Kyle Donaldson of BC Hydro.
 
The province will make legislative amendments in the Spring, to enable the BCER to make decisions on permits and authorizations associated with the construction of the NCTL and other major high-voltage projects.(Quesnel Cariboo Observer Jan 30th).

"Other major high voltage projects" is interesting. Get the grid ready to accept wind-power, both for domestic consumption and export. Will see how that pans out, especially as it relates to Alberta.
