Energy export curtailment to BC would not be friendly. I hope it doesn't come to this, but it stresses importance of BC building its own renewable energy portfolio. Offshore wind could help.

It's not only about meeting increased demand coming in BC (10,000 MW as Oceanic mentions), but ensuring energy security for the province.
