Snap a picture of a wound and diagnose it...

https://slyceit.applytojob.com/apply/2qUcmM/VP-Of-Engineering

As VP of Engineering at Slyce you’ll be a part of a team that is building a massive business based on image recognition and visual search. We make it possible to take a picture of virtually anything, identify what it is, and take action on it. Snap a photo of a product and buy it, scan a coupon to save it to your phone, snap a picture of a wound and diagnose it, or snap a scan an outfit to figure out how to accessorize.

You’ll be a part of a fast-moving team based in Philadelphia. You will mentor others while building high-performance applications and APIs used by our apps, customers, and us every day. You'll manage product backlogs, own planning sprints, and orchestrate work across teams at Slyce, including for our three consumer applications—SnipSnap, Pounce, and Craves.

You will need to be able to prioritize what’s important to build, understand requirements and dependencies, and not be shy about voicing opinions as we chart our course.

As a member of the team you will work closely with senior management to plan project execution and provide status updates to ensure that the organization is properly aligned across all active initiative.

We’re not language zealots and we believe in using the right tool for the job. We’re comfortable with a polyglot codebase that today includes:

  • Languages: Ruby, Javascript, Go, Python
  • Databases: MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, Firebase, PostgreSQL
  • Frameworks: Sinatra, Rails, Meteor
  • Frontend: React, Meteor, Angular
  • Testing: Rspec, Jasmine
  • Infrastructure: Rackspace, AWS
  • Operations: Ansible, Docker
  • Responsibilities
  • Experience as a team lead
  • Experience building APIs and web applications
  • Experience with agile, iterative, and test-driven development methods
  • Deep knowledge of Ruby
  • Deep knowledge of Javascript
  • Knowledge of Go and/or Python a plus
  • Deep knowledge of data stores, relational and nosql alike.
  • Knowledge of DevOps methods

if slyce clients become hospitals this sp is going to explode. Once it proves successful and cost saving for hospitals they will all fall in line. Excited to see were this goes.

I'm curious to know when the medical app will be beta testing. Something they've been discussing for a while. I forgot who said he thought it would be a larger market than retail. Git'er done SLC! IMHO GLTA

You guys are completely delusional.  Do you have any idea what kind of liability Slyce we be open to if they got into the medical field? If you misidentify someone's shoes it means the customer buys the wrong thing. If you misdiagnose something serious the customer DIES. There is a 0% chance this happens. Have you ever worked with a startup that attempted to enter the medical field? I ...more

I found you annoying before, but now I just feel sorry for you. Let that be a lesson for anyone who invests. If you cant afford to loose money, dont invest, or you'll be exactly like Leafs4Life, just a soar person trying to take out his emotions by insulting others. Get a life. Seriously. We all know the state slyce is in right now, but the way you talk and present yourself doesnt do anything, ...more
