IMHO, I think health was among the factors. What probably happened is that when Poet pivoted to InP and silicon-based solutions, Geoff Taylor was no longer needed in a leading role. He is onto to something that may bring an astounding breakthrough to the industry in the future, but it is in his and Poet's back pocket for now.
