Shallow drill depth CONTRADICTS a 30,000 feet basin

Hole 6-1 was supposed to be drilled in the deepest part of an alleged 30,000  basin and, the company only managed to drill at about +/- 9,000 feet of what was supposed to be 12,500 feet.

Does this total depth drilled not CONTRADICT the ssertions made of a 30,000 foot basin?

If the depth is too shallow, as it was on our neighbors land, does this not raise questions as to whether the source rocks were cooked enough to give commerical hydrocarbons?

I am not bashing nor pumping, simply asking a question.

Honestly why are you still posting here ? You said you sold so move on. If I sold would I post about it ... no why? You obviously had to high of expectations on these early wells ( Rivers of oil I recal from some of your posts ) the point of these wells was to try & prove up a petroleum system in place, so mission accomplished. Sorry if you felt this was going to be a gusher based off an ...more

I was invested in this stock for a year and, have followed it closely.   Why does my selling have to do anything with having a conversation that is based on facts.  People benefitted when I did research and shared information on this company, why the sudden refusal to want to hear what I have to say? I am posting because it is a topic of interest and I am raising some questions on ...more

Honestly teheran10, I have been here one (1) year and you know me well enough. Why result to name calling. It would be more intelligent to answer my concern than to name call and degrade someone. mpo

=============== Well First I am long ... and still hold a whack.. so hope that calms the nut bars on here...  Hidden brings up some valid points .. and one has to listen to both sides and then make your own eval.. if he didn't why did MR>market drop the SP?  Don't give me the short excuse that is getting old already... it dropped because the NR was a bit of fluff and short on ...more

Thanks Bpultra, I appreciate your wise post. Shareholders sometimes become so married to the stock that they refuse to look at facts, preferring to make excuses for the company. If the company had drilled into a reservoir of oil, they would have said so.    But they said nothing.  They alluded to reaching total depth but omitted to say that they could not reach 12,500 feet for ...more

@Hiddensecrets, no offence but it seems like you invested in ignorance and are selling in ignorance. No one with any knowledge of oil and gas would have ever assumed that 30,000 ft were producible, but you continually made evident that that is what you thought. A basin depth simply means the depth of deposition sitting on the continental craton/crust (please don't crucify me for my lack of ...more

Why the wells didn't reach a deeper TD? Explained by a Geo (not me)   DD Couple of folks have asked me about RA calling TD before the planned 12,500 ft so I thought I’d put a more distilled answer together. Based on an email from Grayson it was said they called TD early because they identified the target zones of interest and did not want to risk drilling ...more

Nice find Bpultra, and thanks for posting. It's a great, succinct summary of the risks and hopefully puts some minds at ease that there could be many ancillary reasons as to why RECO decided not to drill to the anticipated 12,500 ft - many more reasons than simply not finding the anticipated oil and gas.

if that was the case management could easily have stated that fact. I think we can handle whatever the news is good or bad, instead management chose to mislead. Not looking for a silver bullet, just cold hard facts. They hav had sidewall cores since the end of February, when they cased down to the 4800ft. They could of cherry picked the core samples and given the share holders a little color. Not ...more

========== well easy to guess behind a keyboard... and even with that Mr. Market agreed with you and drove the SP down.... it was to0 high on hype in the first place... . Mr.Market will settle this into a new price zone and one can sell or buy or both... one question for me is that the NR had to be approved by the gov... now what comes with all that you and I do not know... also the info belongs ...more

@Ebenizer3, the problem with the information  you are asking RECO to disclose is that it is pretty much as useless as the mud logs. One or 2 wells worth of cores and wireline logs, as well as seismic data, is useless unless it is analyzed to develop some sort of reservoir model, from which an IDEA of reserves can be formed. This takes time, so the ultimate info everyone is asking for is ...more

You are right, Turn. This is a new basin, it will take a long time to figure it out, but I would like to see real data released so we can see that Recon's ridiculous empty statements are meaningless. And as you say, there really aren't any analogous fields at this point, so wouldn't you agree that Recon mentioning the Zagros field in the Middle East is really pushing the boundaries of ...more

I agree with you that it is an empty, unsubstantiated claim to compare this with the Zagros basin. But I think where you and I might differ is that I accept that this is all part of the dog and pony show to drum up investment dollars. I am well aware that this is a gamble, and far from a sure thing, but I'm willing to let my money ride. And I can understand that you are trying to inform some ...more

Our drill  was only scheduled go to 12500 ft as stated by the company numerous times. The 30k depth is located in theBotswana part of the concession so that is where the JV partner comes in with the really heavy drills. Ciao

well since there's going to be a bit of a wait between now and seismic is analyzed they will have time to DST the 6-2 and 6-1. As far as the 30,000ft. statement was made by cathey back in 2015 6 weeks after steinke picked up the Namibia license and cathey analyzed the aero mag survey. Botswana wasn't even talked about. And as far drilling into an oil or gas bearing zone unless ur drilling ...more
