Moreover, most major CEOs pay and bonuses are tied to their ESG metrics. Any exploration on land in protected areas for majors is like catching STDs. No one wants bad press.

As for Canada, PM Trudeau is positioning himself as someone into anti-carbon emissions and fossil fuels at the current COP Bio-diversity UN conference in Montreal. Just optics and showing the world he is a player.
