Until it's settled one can only guess... However in case it doesn't, you don't have to be a genius to realize there would be huge spending cuts accross the whole US economic spectrum, notaby in social benefits including medicare...Think about it before  throwing undeserved gratuitous insults that color you silly.

If Republicans "succeed" by killing the hostage they are holding (the citizens' well-being), the dollar will go in the tank and our borrowing interest rates will go up, and the price of RHT will drop like every other stock, except perhaps for precious metals. After the shock though, telemedicine saves money over conventional treatment, so it and (RHT) should come back fairly quickly. ...more

If the Republicans succeed... The US FED will still create out of thin air whatever it takes to pay its bills ... The USD and  treasury bonds will still be sought by most other central banks for lack  of a viable replacement, however the GOP will then impose cuts as a matter of their policies to put some breaks on the constant recurring runaway deficits. This political game has been played soooo many times. The Reps string it out for as long as possible to make the Biden administration look economically incompetent. It would be a surprise if it ended any different to normal.

For some, their positions and job titles mean more to them than the well-being of their citizens or country. McCarthy is more than willing to sink the country and the global economy than to lose his title as House Speaker. He thinks he's a celebrity and not a public servant elected to govern. Wannabe celebrities occupy too much of the U.S. Congress.
