Life of the mine

And dont forget this mine will be in operation after our kids are dead. This mine has a huge life.

there is about 1 billion tons or more of salt. If they were to mine 10 million tons a year. That would give 100 year mine life.

just think about that your great great grand kids will see the mine in operation (unless the planet explodes )

What's the timeline to have the mine open?

Would take up to 2 years to get into production. Needs 200 workers to build, and 150 employees to operate once in production.

I would disagree with the 2 year build.  Ramping is the intended access to the mine and the mining method.  There is no shaft required to ramp which would take longer to construct to access the mine.  Mining will commence with continuous miners.(Goderich mine is using this method)  It would only take time to prep the access site and bring hydro to the site, which is apparently ...more

twoponds, I tend to agree but I think the proof will be when SLR completes the Great Atlantic feasibity Study, this will tell us the cost, type of production method and everything else we need to know as to 1) how long to get to production and 2) how much someone is basically going to pay to acquire SALT. The DOW is down near 700 today alone, and almost 7.5% on the month. The over valuation for ...more

Seems share price is holding up well and even though much of the time I don't study charts per se, Atlas has a really good looking chart.  That tells you something about the Company and the investors moving forward... Prepping the ramp to access,I'll bet they're already sourcing the equipment as we speak.  Then we'll get the PR to follow once they purchase is made and ETA ...more

The hydro would be on site very quickly. There is a terminal station just a stones throw away up the highway with all the power they could want and more. It is the Bottom Brook terminal station and is associated with the gull island development in Labrador. Power is a non issue.

Crunch, I don't know for sure, but with all the hydro in NFLD and Labrador being developed and coming online, it should make the potential development of a mine cheaper because of the availability, stability, and pricing of electricity. Do you know how all of this fits in? How much power do you think a low cost operating ramp mine would use during production?
Comment by Crunchy2chew on Jan 25, 2022 12:46pm
I dont think it would be a hell of a lot of power compared to any other industreal operation. Bit whatever they need is at the door step. My mind goes to excess power being used to generate hydrogen. Then storing it in the future caverns at our dome. If it gets sole out it will make us a lit of money. If developed it would be an energy utility operation. Either way we will be happy.  There ...more
