says a lot of small investors got panicked out of their shares. Then bought back in to get spinout shares. Also some lucky traders and shorts booked profits and now are buying back in. Many possibilities explain a market driven by knee jerk reactions. That's why I am not a trader and try to stick by solid fundamentals. Atlas Salt has them in spades. Good Labour Day to all longs.

I had the same thought today. Same here, zero trading on my side as well. Any investment accumulation along the way is there until the buyout :)

I'm thinking that after the spin out, some people might move to VUL for more leverage. In my opinion, the closer this gets to a production decision or buyout, the more valuable becomes the 3% royalty. Anyone has an opinion on this? MoneyK

Let's be clear, research shows that almost all day traders lose money.  Estimates show that about 80 per cent of day traders lose money. It is just gambling espically with stocks like SALT. the fact is no one without insider info can beat the market like long term Warren Buffet types.  In the case of Salt there is no way to time the market. i have been accumulating since a year and half. I noticed the patterns but resisted trading. Long and super strong is the way with this.
