A few random thoughts

A few random thoughtsThis current price action is annoying, but it doesn't affect my longterm view on SPOT. It holds a unique place in the mining sector, and one that will only increase in importance over time as the world struggles to find the mineral deposits of the future.

So why the negative price action? Here are two thoughts:

1) I see NFG share price (and the junior miners in general) have been trending downward over the last few weeks/months. That will affect the profits reported for Q3, as the last three quarters have benefitted greatly from increases to the value of these investments. It will be interesting to see what Q3 numbers look like, but I imagine we'll get our first taste of what a negative move in the portfolio value will look like in terms of profit per share.

2) The CEO acquisition was expensive and not well understood. Also, they only reported growth metrics and not revenue for CEO, so we don't know what kind of multiple they paid.

Or do we? Perhaps I missed this information?

Acquiring CEO could still be a very good move, but I'm not surprised some investors are taking a bit of money off the table until intentions are more clear.

Potential catalysts:

1) More information on how the SaaS revenue is gong to be rolled out, as well as revenue targets for said roll out, could be a major catalyst. Likely we won't see the results of that until at least next spring in the financials, but even solid guidance would be noteworthy.

2) A second major discovery at one of the district-sized exploration properties is always a possibility, and I would argue it will happen at some point.

3 Another meaningful acquisition.

All in all, this is a long term play with significant cataysts in both the mining technology sphere and in the domain of large mineral discoveries. Plenty of upside potential from these levels. I am not buying more at these prices only because my SPOT shares already represent a sizable part of my total portfolio value. However, I have no plans to sell any shares either.

Good luck to all!
