Drilling starts @ Gold Creek
Tiex Inc. Commences Drilling Gold Creek Gold Property
Tiex Inc. TIX.v is pleased to announce that it has recommenced drilling on its 100% owned Gold Creek project located just north-east of Likely B.C. In order to determine the validity and reliability of drill core results the company plans on several small pilot drill projects to verify the best drilling methods for this property. Mud Bay Drilling Co. Ltd. of Surrey BC has been retained to sonic drill the top 110 metres of previously drilled hole GC08-02 as a test to evaluate core recovery. By using high frequency vibrations, the sonic drill can produce accurate and almost totally undisturbed continuous core samples from both solid and unconsolidated materials. The retrieved cores are extruded by vibration into clear plastic sleeves which can be logged, sampled, photographed and archived in core boxes for future examination.
In 2008 the Company completed 11 holes totalling 1568.13 metres and in December 2009 an additional 3 holes totalling 383.9 metres were completed but the program was terminated because of drilling complications. Diamond drilling was extremely difficult in the Gold Creek area due to fractured ground conditions. Few holes reached their planned depth and orientation of the drill required steep angle holes in order to minimize drill blocking and core loss. Following an analysis of lithology and Au anomaly values from the core samples it appears that the gold values were lower than anticipated. The core loss of up to 50% in 2008 and even higher in 2009 made many of the assay results unreliable. This is evidenced by the assays obtained from drill sludge samples from hole GC08-02.
The interpretation of the drill holes indicates that the Gold Creek zone is striking north-north-west across the Poquette valley. The 2009 drill holes GC09-01, 02, and 03 were drilled from the collar locations 200 metres west of hole GC08-01. These holes intersected silica altered felsic tuff with elevated gold values. The drill holes in the 2009 program intersected Gold Creek felsic tuff rock for almost the entire length of each hole. Hole GC09-03 encountered mafic and dioritic rocks at about 194 metres. The gold zone is probably associated with the hornblende-diorite intrusive located a few hundreds of metres west of the current drilling location. Evidence of high temperature alteration, chlorite and epidote and evidence from the bottom of hole GC09-03 suggests the hole was approaching the intrusive with increasing frequency of mafic sections (dykes?) that support this conclusion. Assay values indicated that the Gold Creek zone is anomalous in gold. However, due to poor core recovery the values and lengths of mineralization in the assay analysis are unreliable particularly in the elevated gold zones.

HiSo all the core is in Vancouver as of yesterday morning - Sonic drilling works, a major accomplishment getting this thing drilled, my hat off to the drill crew! They drilled a total of 140m between 2 holes and got what they say is excellent recovery.Chemx is slow so Ernie was told 2-3 weeks turn around on the assays.ttfnnopoo
