A possibly under-appreciated positive here is the potential ability to maintain a patient with a less than Complete Response via relatively infrequent (six monthly?) re-treatments given the alternative of expensive and complex cystectomy and the consequent health deficits that may ensue.

 

So from a Public Health (and FDA) perspective a partial response - even if not maintained for 360/450 days - could represent a significant reduction of the financial burden of NMIBC on the public purse given the infrequency of and spacing between treatments and from this perspective a maintained PR may prove little less valuable than a CR in terms of the practical success of the Trial.
