As for the LMR ratio posted by another user, the regulators have essentially approved all transactions proposed by legitimate parties thus far. All.

The regulations are in place to prevent “scoundrels” from buying companies, stripping the assets and renouncing the liabilities. This is not ZAR's case, so statistically speaking, LMR ratio under 2 will not prevent a corporate sale.

The continued insider sales really spook me, particularly at these price levels. A bunch were sold yesterday and another 44000 today flagged on the TSX as an insider sale; my guess is Hansen back at it.  Mystifying, and certainly doesn't give me a lot of confidence that a beneficial transaction will be coming any time soon.

I think that's unlikely.   Some of the insiders are liquidating -- selling off shares that have been purchased recently through automated purchase programs (i.e. no tax loss since cost basis is approximately current share price). Hansen is a bit different, but I still doubt it's tax losses.  You really think he's just waiting to buy back in after the clearing period ...more

CH's average cost must be a lot higher than 43 cents.  He also owns $800,000 face value of debentures so he must feel its pretty safe. But there is no question that an illiquid stock like this, the employee share purchase plane exerts downward pressure on the SP - even before doing a NCIB, they should stop the EPP (just give them cash).  Btw, if they decide to go private, a low SP ...more
