OpenText (TSX:OTC, Stock Forum), a Waterloo Ontario-based independent provider of information management software, announced today that the company opened its new office in Sao Paulo, Brazil to provide support for its Latin American operations.
According to the news release, the new office, located in one of Sao Paulo's key business districts, will act as OpenText's South American hub.
As an addendum to the event, the company has upped its workforce and opened a new satellite office in the capital city of Brasilia to further entrench itself in the region.
Company president and CEO, Mark J. Barrenechea, commented, “Latin America is a vibrant market and the office expansion in Brazil is a sign of OpenText's commitment to the region.”
He went on to explain, “With a diversifying technology landscape and increasing Internet penetration, the country is in the midst of a technology boom which creates huge opportunity for businesses.”
Then he concluded, “By strengthening our presence in Latin America, we are now able to provide local organizations with solutions tailored to their specific needs to help them capitalize on their enterprise information.”
