Synodon (TSX-V:SYD, StockForum), a Edmonton Alberta-based remote sensing firm engaged in providing datasets such as aerial imagery, thermal and terrain mapping and vegetation & ground type to energy companies to improve efficiency, safety and regulatory compliances, announced today that the company entered into a business arrangement with Opus Stewart Weir.

According to the news release, the agreement allows Synodon to utilize Weir's iPad GIS app, SwiTab, and add mobile operational asset management capability to its realSens(TM) advanced pipeline integrity management services.

The release went on to note, “The SWiTab application loads high resolution imagery and attributed pipeline datasets from the various realSens™ services together with the associated documentation so it can be viewed instantaneously by the pipeline operators in the field. Data is pre-loaded onto the tablet after each survey project and no internet connectivity is required to access project data in remote locations.”

Synodon CEO, Adrian Banica, commented, “We are very pleased to add this new and powerful mobile data delivery option to our realSens™ capabilities.”

Then he concluded, “This will enable our customers to have convenient and immediate access to our survey results both in their offices as well as in the field in advance of having access to full GIS compatible datasets.”

Synodon was in the news recently when the company added two new realSens(TM) customers to the fold a week ago.

Shares rose 9.41% on the news to $0.465 per share.

Currently there are 82.4m outstanding shares with a market cap of $38.3 million.
