Canada’s main stock index pulled back more than 100 points in Friday trading to close out another choppy week as losses in the industrials sector helped lead the way lower.
Disappointing quarterly reports from Amazon and Apple pressured growth stocks and pushed the tech-heavy NASDAQ to its worst month in two years. Wall Street closed lower as investors dump high-growth stocks on concerns of rising interest rates denting future earnings.

The Canadian dollar traded for 78.16 cents US compared to 77.79 cents US on Thursday.
Crude oil prices were up 1.19 to $106.50.
The price of gold was up 13.53 to $ 1,909.02.
In world markets, the Nikkei remained at 26,847.90, the Hang Seng was up 813.22 points to 21,089.39, the FTSE was up 28.09 points to 7,537.28, and the DAX was up 98.96 points to 14,078.80.
