As more declines in big technology companies weighed on the broader market, Canada’s main stock index fell into the red for the sixth consecutive session on Thursday, a day after falling into correction territory. Tracking a retreat in bullion prices, the TSX is now down 10.2% from its March 29th record high closing. Only health care and tech moved higher.

Growth stocks lead declines on Wall Street, as traders worry that aggressive interest rate increases to curb decades-high inflation could tip the economy into recession. Investors digested another dire readout on inflation as the government reported that wholesale prices soared 11% in April 2022 from a year earlier.
