The TSX is up 1.70%, while the TSX Venture is up 2.18%, as markets rally on a tech‑led rebound that pushed the Nasdaq higher by more than 0.13% in early trading. U.S. indexes opened broadly firmer, with the S&P 500 gaining 0.15% and the Dow rising nearly half a percent as traders rotated back into beaten‑down growth names. London’s FTSE 100 moved lower, down 0.28%, as European markets lagged the North American rebound.

Commodities were mixed to start the session. Gold added 0.30% as buyers returned on the latest pullback, while oil rose more than 1.5% following fresh shipping warnings in the Strait of Hormuz. Natural gas climbed nearly 2%, and copper drifted slightly lower. Bitcoin continued to slide—down 1.40% in Canadian dollar terms—as crypto markets extended their risk‑off trend, while Ether tracked similar weakness.
