Microcap Report: Rising tide in Athabasca floats many boats

Aldrin Resource Corp. (TSX: V.ALN, Stock Forum), Makena Resources Inc. (TSX: V.MKN, Stock Forum) and Skyharbour Resources Ltd. (TSX: V.SYH, Stock Forum) were among the microcap companies benefiting from NexGen’s big uranium strike in Athabasca Wednesday.

Aldrin was up 7% to 7.5 cents. Makena jumped 5% to 10.5 cents. Skyharbour jumped 13.6% to 12.5 cents.

Maya Gold & Silver Inc. (TSX: V.MYA, Stock Forum) was up 4.3% to 36 cents after the company released a N1 43-101-compliant silver mineral resource estimate for its Zgounder silver mine in Morocco. Highlights include a measured and indicated resource of six million ounces. Of that amount, 540,000 tonnes averages 343 grams per tonne. The company said the mineralized system is still open at depth and laterally.

Ucore Rare Metals (TSX:V.UCU, Stock Forum) have their fingers crossed that an initiative currently before Alaska legislators will see state financing of their Bokan-Dotson Ridge project to the tune of $145 million. Stock jumped 31.5% to $0.35 on the news.

Integra Gold (TSX-V:ICG, StockForum) jumped 8% to 34.5 cents on a news release showing significant high grade gold at their Lamaque project. Results from the drilling produced significant intersections including 91.03 g/t gold over 1 metre, 73.75 g/t gold over 1 metre and 26.69 g/t gold over 3 metres.

Gran Colombia Gold (TSX:GCM, StockForum) amended its preliminary prospectus Wednesday and shares jumped 18%. The stock has been on an absolute tear in February, moving from $1 to nearly $4 in quick time. It closed at $3.86 on Wednesday.

Winrock Resources (CSE:C.WR, Stock Forum) ramped up 17.6% to 20 cents upon announcing the opening of a Bitcoin mining collocation datacenter. The stock drifted back in the final minutes of trading on the day.

Cargojet (TSX:T.CJT, Stock Forum) soared Wednesday, up 26% to $18.08, following news the Toronto-area company has been awarded a multi-year contract to provide domestic air cargo services to Canada Post and its Purolator division.
