Great Lakes Graphite Inc. (TSX: V.GLK, Stock Forum) jumped 44% to 13 cents Thursday after the company validated the performance of a new process sheet, saying it has received preliminary metallurgical testing results of graphite samples from its Lochaber Graphite Project located in southwestern Québec.
According to the news release, the tests demonstrated a graphite concentrate consisting of 57% large flakes, +70 mesh or >180 microns, can be produced from the sample, as well as noting that 45% of the concentrate was classified as jumbo flake, +50 mesh or > 300 microns.
Geonovus Minerals (CSE: GNM, Stock Forum) rose 25% to 5 cents. The company took made a major step in its push into the MMJ and hemp sectors, saying it had entered into a definitive agreement with a private Uruguay “SA” company and its principal Julian Strauss, whereby the company would acquire all the current assets of the private Uruguayan company and also of its principal.
According to the news release, both the acquired company and Julian Strauss are actively working in multiple areas of cannabinoid sciences, industrial hemp and medical marijuana industries within Uruguay and as a result of the deal, Geonovus will continue that work with Julian Strauss providing consulting services to the company.
