Titanium Corporation (TSX: V.TIC, Forum) made a significant climb in the market today when the Edmonton, Alberta-based company announced that it had reached an agreement with Syncrude Canada for the co-ownership of one of Titanium’s patents and first right for Titanium to propose commercial recovery of heavy minerals at Syncrude sites.
According to the
news release, Titanium assigned 50% interest in Canadian Patent No. 2,662.346 entitled "Recovery of Bitumen from Froth Treatment Tailings" to Syncrude. Syncrude now has exclusive right to practice the patent at Syncrude’s oil sands project sites.
Shares were up 79.49% to $1.40 per share.
High Liner Foods Incorporated (TSX: HLF, Forum) slipped a little below the waves in trading today with no material news to back up the move. The company hasn’t had a press release since
it announced bringing on a new product line a little over a week ago.
Some traders speculated that the drop in price was part of a short run following a less than impressive quarterly financial report. The volume was slim, perhaps indicating that the majority of shareholders including the institutional holders still considered the company a going concern.
Shares were down 9.69% to $14.08 per share.
