On Monday, Canadian markets were closed for the Thanksgiving holiday.

In Tuesday trading, Klondex Mines (TSX: T.KDX, Stock Forum) shares powered 81% higher to 56 cents after the micro cap miner reported new intercepts and the extension of two vein zones at its 100%-owned Fire Creek gold property in Nevada, which included 17.7 feet true width averaging 0.213 ounces per ton gold and 0.60 ounces per ton silver.

As well, shares of Admiral Bay Resources (TSX: V.ADB, Stock Forum) skyrocketed 112% to 18 cents as the emerging unconventional gas production firm announced that it has begun installation of its first of two new electric compressors in the Shiloh Project in Kansas. Once installation is complete, the Shiloh Project will be capable of selling over 3.0 mmcfpd, an approximate 20% increase from current capacity. In addition, the electric compressors will not require fuel gas, thus increasing sales immediately.

Wednesday’s market action saw shares of Metallic Ventures Gold (TSX: T.MVG, Stock Forum) climb 39% to 32 cents said the Jeffrey Randle Ward (its CEO) and Miriam Ramos Ward Revocable Trust announced the purchase Wednesday of 4,124,230 common shares of Metallic in a private transaction at a price of 26 cents a share. The purchased shares represent about 7.9% of the outstanding common shares of the company. The October 15 purchase by the acquiror brings the combined holdings of the acquiror and investments to 15,425,343 common shares, representing about 29.7% of the outstanding common stock of Metallic.

Also, Canadian Trading Partners LLC said it has taken a 19.6% stake in InStorage Real Estate Investment Trust (TSX: T.IS.UN, Stock Forum) and indicated it may increase its holding and make a takeover bid for Canada's biggest self-storage owner, according to the Canadian Press. Canadian Trading Partners acquired 2.4 million InStorage units from Sentry Select Capital for $3.75 per unit, or a total of $8.9 million. Units of InStorage shot up 64% to $2.75.

On Thursday,Southern Arc Minerals (TSX: V.SA, Stock Forum) shares surged as much as 24% before closing up 12% to 14 cents after the micro cap explorer reported results from its Selodong porphyry copper/gold prospect in Indonesia, which included 472.6 metres of 0.16% copper and 0.28 grams per tonne (g/t) gold.

In addition, Cortex Business Solutions (TSX: V.CBX, Stock Forum) shares jumped 43% to 20 cents after the provider of eCommerce services announced an agreement that will offer Cortex's services to TELUS energy sector customers and expanding the open access eProcurement network.

And, in Friday trading, Alexis Minerals (TSX: T.AMC, Stock Forum) shares soared 30% to 39.5 cents after the micro cap miner reported assays results, which included a wedged hole that intersected volcanogenic massive to semi-massive sulphides grading 6.81% copper over 3.45 metres in deep drilling at Val d'Or, Quebec.

Finally, shares of Allen-Vanguard (TSX: T.VRS, Stock Forum) powered 26% higher to 29 cents as the provider of protection and counter-measures against hazardous devices of all kinds said it has received a contract award to provide specialized training to the U.S. Department of Defense, which has a value of about $18 million and is expected to continue through fiscal 2013. The total value of the program over the full five-year period, including fiscal 2009, is estimated at approximately $100 million.
