Stockhouse Canadian Small and Micro-cap Stock Report for Friday, September 24, 2010

TORONTO (SHfn) – Augen Gold (TSX: V.GLD, Stock Forum) shares powered 29% higher to 22.5 cents on Friday after the micro cap explorer reported gold exploration results in the Jerome Mine area within its 100% owned South Swayze Property, which included 2.75 grams per tonne (g/t) gold over 61 metres.

As well, shares of Northern Tiger Resources (TSX: V.NTR, Stock Forum) moved up 22% to 83 cents as the junior miner announced that all results from rock and soil samples collected during the 2010 surface exploration program at the 3Ace Project in the Yukon have been received and that the recently announced drill program is “progressing well,” according to the company. Highlights from rock sampling of the quartz vein structures in the Sleeping Giant Zone include 82.27 g/t gold from a rock grab sample.

Midlands Minerals (TSX: V.MEX, Stock Forum), meanwhile, reported gold intersections from four recent diamond drill holes on the Sian project in Ghana, which included 15.5 metres grading 2.3 g/t gold. Midlands stock popped 22% to 22 cents.

And, Majestic Gold (TSX: V.MJS, Stock Forum) Friday said that with initial production under way at its Song Jiagou gold project in China, the company and its mining contractor partner have been developing plans to increase the size of the processing facilities, including a mill tailings storage facility, new tailings line, and water and power supply, in anticipation of increasing production to approximately 7,500 tonnes per day. The new mill is designed to produce 6,000 tonnes per day in addition to the existing capacity. Majestic shares jumped 36% to 17 cents.
