Stockhouse Canadian Small and Micro-cap Stock Report for Tuesday, June 26, 2012

TORONTO (SHfn) – Burnstone Ventures (TSX: V.BVE, Stock Forum) shares jumped 23% to 21.5 cents on Tuesday after the micro cap explorer reported the initial NI 43-101 resource estimate on its Tomichi copper-molybdenum porphyry project in Colorado, which showed 2.5 billion pounds of copper, 552 million pounds molybdenum, 30 million ounces of silver, and 320,000 ounces of gold.

As well, shares of Aeterna Zentaris (TSX: T.AEZ, Stock Forum) moved up 16% to 54 cents as the drug development company announced that final Phase 3 results for its oral ghrelin agonist, AEZS-130, show that the drug is safe and effective in diagnosing adult growth hormone deficiency (AGHD).

Canada Energy Partners (TSX: V.CE, Stock Forum), meanwhile, said it has acquired all of the outstanding shares of GeoMet’s wholly-owned subsidiary Hudson's Hope Gas Ltd., which is the 50% owner and operator of the company's Peace River Coalbed Methane Project, for a consideration of two million shares of Canada Energy Partners. Canada Energy stock popped as much as 19% to 16 cents.

And, SouthGobi Resources (TSX: T.SGQ, Stock Forum) late Monday reported that operations continue to be effected by a number of external factors including regulatory issues in Mongolia and deteriorating market conditions. SouthGobi shares slid 26% to $4 on Tuesday.
