TORONTO (SHfn) – U.S. Silver (TSX: T.USA, Stock Forum) shares powered 23% higher to $1.81 on volume of more than 3.2 million shares Thursday after Hecla Mining (NYSE: HL, Stock Forum) announced that it intends to make a $1.80 per-share all-cash offer to acquire the silver miner.

As well, shares of Finavera Wind Energy (TSX: V.FVR, Stock Forum) gained as much as 32% before closing up 2% to 22.5 cents as the wind energy development firm said it has agreed to sell the 77 megawatt Wildmare Wind Energy Project in British Columbia for approximately $22 million to Innergex Renewable Energy (TSX: T.INE, Stock Forum).

Edgewater Wireless Systems (TSX: V.YFI, Stock Forum), meanwhile, reported that it has entered into a $4.9 million agreement with World Affinity Telecom to supply next-generation WiFi3 technology as part of phase 1 of a multi-phase program designed to deliver WiFi and WLAN coverage throughout several Western and Central African countries. The initial deployment will take place in Freetown, Sierra Leone in the fall of 2012. Edgewater Wireless stock popped 18% to 22.5 cents.

And, RDM Corporation (TSX: T.RC, Stock Forum) Thursday announced that third-quarter revenue increased 8% to $5.2 million, while net income was $728,000, or three cents a share, compared with $151,000, or a penny a share, during the same period last year. RDM shares surged 16% to $1.21.
