Mid-morning report: Stocks up

The TSX composite was higher, up 7.61 points to 12,839.57 in mid-morning trading on Thursday. The Dow gained 42.93 to 14,339.17, while NASDAQ rose 8.93 to 3,231.3.

Canadian Natural Resources Ltd. (TSX: T.CNQ, Stock Forum) said revenue was at $3.7 billion in its fourth quarter report, half a billion lower than in the fourth quarter of 2011. It was up 2.86% to $32.05 a share in mid-morning trading.

The price of gold dropped US$6.87 to US$1,577.00 an ounce, while silver slipped US$0.15 to U$28.90 an ounce.
