The TSX composite was higher, rising 44.46 points to 12,528.51 in mid-morning trading on Wednesday. The Dow was up 122.87 to 14,796.33, while NASDAQ gained 49.10 to 3,286.96.
Three of Canada's smaller mobile phone carriers, Wind Mobile, Public Mobile and Mobilicity accused the Canadian Wireless Telecommunications Association of consistently taking positions that favour Canada's bigger carriers — Rogers Communications Inc. (TSX: T.RCI.B, Stock Forum), Bell Aliant Inc. (TSX: T.BA, Stock Forum) and Telus Corp. (TSX: T.T, Stock Forum). As such the smaller three companies have jointly announced they're withdrawing from the industry's main lobby group.
