Pot co. looks to patent new genetic cannabis strains

Beleave Inc. (CSE: BE, OTCQB: BLEVF, Forum) announced today that it has commenced a collaborative research project at Ryerson University. The research is to be led by Dr. Lesley Campbell, associate professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biology. The goal of the research is to expand upon previous genetic models pioneered by Dr. Campbell to develop genetic models for the precision breeding of cannabis.

Ultimately, the Company is seeking to develop commercialized plant strains of cannabis with unique genetic and proteomic markers which will allow Beleave to protect these new strains with patents. Further information can be found here.

Beleave was recently in the news last month when it announced facility upgrades to prepare for future expansion.
