International Frontier wins Mexican approval for energy program

International Frontier Resources Corp. (TSX: V.IFR, IFRTF, Forum) said Friday it has achieved a major milestone in Mexico.

The company said Mexican regulator, the National Hydrocarbons Commission has approved a scheduled work program for development of the Tecolutia oil and gas field in Veracruz.

“We now await final approval of our drilling permit and have a clear path to spudding our first well and performing workovers,’’ said IFR President and CEO Steve Hanson in a press release.

International Frontier was in the news recently when its joint venture company Tonalli Energia was awarded the on shore oil and gas development Block that is referred to as Tecolutia.

The Tecolutia Block is a 7.2 square kilometre block located in the Tampico-Misantla Basin located in the state of Veracruz.
