DealRoom: The World's Next Producing Gold Mine

Stockhouse Editorial

With the price of gold near a multi-year low, many investors are taking a second look at gold – and gold mining companies. Click to enlarge

Junior miner Nordic Gold Corp. (TSX: V.NOR, OTCQB:FIEIF, Forum) can be seen as an undervalued Company in this climate. The Company recently took over 100% of a past-producing and fully-permitted gold mine, the Laiva project in Raahe, Finland, that is prepping its first pour of gold.

The mine was previously operational from 2011 to 2014 under another company and more than $254 million (USD) was spent on the development of two open pits, a 6,000 t/d milling and CIL circuit, along with other infrastructure. The pieces are in place, all of the required infrastructure is in place, including grid power, roads, buildings and port. Management believes there is still a lot to offer under the surface, with only 1.2 km of the highly-prospective 5.3 km gold corridor explored.

It has been a busy few months leading up to this event; In-fill drilling began in April of this year, followed by an economically-robust PEA released that August, quickly followed by mining. The mills began turning in late October, just in time for the first pour. Average annual gold production is expected to be nearly 76,000 ounces, with total production expected to be 456,699 ounces over the life of the mine.

The Company is well funded having just secured $7 million (USD) in funding with PFL Raahe Holdings LP to help NOR reach production at the Laiva project. $3 million was provided in October 2018 and the other $4 million in November.

Stockhouse caught up with Nordic Gold CEO Michael Hepworth recently at the 2018 New Orleans Investor Conference. He hails this as - “A rare opportunity to invest in a mostly de-risked, fully built and fully permitted gold mining project in Finland, the world’s #1 mining destination.”

The Company is offering units at $0.10 with a full warrant at $0.13, good for two years with a holding period of four months.

Nordic Gold boasts a seasoned team of mining and technical engineers focusing on producing gold profitability. They have already uncovered evidence of further gold deposits at the Laiva project.
