More and more people are using the digital platform produced by data analytics Company Cannvas MedTech Inc. (CSE: MTEC, OTCQB: CANVF, FRA: 3CM) to educate themselves about cannabis before making their purchases.

Cannvas recently reported an increase in month-over-month users signing on to its Cannvas.Me platform by 31% in May, and 61% so far in June 2019. In a news release, the Company emphasized that this underscores the need for unbiased cannabis education for consumers around the world. Users are also spending more time on their site, as the Company noted visits have increased to 12 minutes and 40 seconds and month-over-month page views increased 369% in June, to date.

The audience is hungry to know more about cannabis and they’re searching for information in droves, as cannabis laws become relaxed in countries and jurisdictions across the globe. The data collected by Cannvas is an invaluable resource for businesses in and outside the cannabis industry, who can use it to better understand what drives consumer purchasing habits.

Cannvas.Me, hailed as among the only unbiased and evidence-based cannabis education resources, provides information on all aspects of the plant, backed by physicians and approved by educators, and without any pressure to make a purchase or direction on how or what to consume. Cannvas has been busy rolling out this platform within kiosks across the country this year while also achieving several milestones, as well as initiatives and strategic partnerships.

These kiosks have been embraced by the Company’s partners, such as Empower Clinics Inc. (CSE: CBDT, OTCQB: EPWCF, Forum), whose network of cannabis clinics covers five states and treats more than 165,000 patients. In April, Cannvas signed a definitive partnership to be the exclusive cannabis education provider for Empower and install its kiosks on-site at its clinics.

The Company’s Chief Executive Officer, Shawn Moniz stated for investors that this opportunity would expose Cannvas to a large patient population looking for therapies to alleviate a number of ailments, while also teaching them more about what behaviours may drive the decision to look at cannabis as an alternative or complementary treatment.

A few days earlier, Cannvas signed a definitive partnership with Seed Technology to distribute co-branded kiosks to medical clinics across Canada. Seed is a California-based interactive customer-focused cannabis education platform and together they are moving towards expanding into international markets.

In May, Cannvas broadened its product lineup with Cannvas.Pet, a digital cannabis education resource for animals. This data platform explores health care through cannabis-based products to help treat a pet or animal's ailments.

The cannabis market for pets is getting a lot of attention and Cannvas wants its option to be a leader in the industry. According to BDS Analytics, sales of cannabis products marketed for pets at medical and adult-use cannabis dispensaries was nearly $7 million in California, Colorado, Oregon and Washington in 2017.

In Colorado alone, sales of pet products grew 49% that year, versus product growth across all categories, which was just 15%. The Company sees a lot of potential for cannabis pet education in Canada, especially following Health Canada’s recent announcement regarding Cannabis Health Products, a new category of cannabis that could open up a massive market in which cannabis is potentially used to treat animals for minor ailments.

As Cannvas looks ahead to the rest of 2019, the Company anticipates appointing new, distinguished members to its Board of Directors as it explores merger and acquisition opportunities through its consultancy firm Catapult Growth Partners.
