HEXO Products to Hit Ontario Cannabis Store Shelves…in a Big Way

Click to enlargeEighteen new and simultaneous product offerings are a lot, even in the exploding retail cannabis space. And it takes a company with massive scalability, a strong retail foothold and innovative products to meet the immediate needs of a currently underserved market.
Quebec-based cannabis giant HEXO Corp (TSX: HEXONYSE: HEXO, Forum) finalized terms with the Ontario Cannabis Store (OCS), and announced on August 14, 2019 that its dried flower cannabis products are now available to consumers throughout Canada’s largest province.

Of the dozen-and-a-half new products that have been added, nine are popular dried flower offerings, including the Company’s award-winning Helios dried flower, which was named Best Sativa at the O’Cannabiz 2019 Industry Awards.
HEXO recently made its products available in Alberta, finalizing an agreement with Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis (AGLC). These nine products are for sale on the Alberta Cannabis online store and nearly 200 private retail stores in the province.
The Company has a history of being at the forefront of the supply chain. In the days following legalization of adult-use cannabis, HEXO was quick to send out a press release underscoring its ability to meet demand where other companies had fallen short.
“HEXO has risen to the challenge of a much higher than anticipated demand during the first few days of legalization, and we are very pleased with their responsiveness,” said Jean-François Bergeron, the Société des alcools du Québec’s Vice-President of Supply Chain, in the release back in October 2018. “Thanks to HEXO’s preparedness, we have been able to provide and maintain customer service to the SQDC’s clients, even with this higher demand.”

In the News
On June 13, 2019, the Company announced that its Eurozone affiliate – HEXO MED S.A. – had received a medical cannabis installation license issued by the Greek government. The license will allow HEXO MED to establish cultivation, processing and manufacturing facilities in the region of Thessaly, Greece. With the license issuance, the Company says they’re now poised to become a leader in the European cannabis landscape.
HEXO Corp CEO and co-founder Sebastien St-Louis commented on the significance of the European license:
“This is a major step for HEXO as we continue to execute towards becoming a top three global cannabis company. Receiving licensing in Greece will allow us to bring know-how and brands powered by HEXO to the European market. The new facility will also drive value for current and future Fortune 500 partners by giving them access to licensed infrastructure internationally with the vision of capturing first-mover advantage in the burgeoning European cannabis market.”
HEXO’s biggest play to date was its massive and aggressive acquisition of Newstrike Brands earlier in March. The acquisition effectively increased HEXO’s distribution footprint from three to eight provinces, propelling it into one of Canada’s top ten largest cannabis companies in terms of market cap.
In an article from March 5, 2019, Stockhouse detailed how HEXO had already positioned itself as not only one of the most scalable and future-focussed Canadian cannabis companies, but as one with its foot firmly on the peddle internationally.
