Click to enlargeCanadian cannabis sales continue to roll (pardon the pun).

According to Statistics Canada, household expenditures on cannabis totaled $7.26 billion in the first quarter of 2020, up 5.5 percent from the prior quarter. The increase is likely be attributed to the initial sales of Cannabis 2.0 products such as edibles and vapes to the Canadian adult-use pot market.

Cannabis joins other consumer goods that saw spending increases in the first quarter of the year, with food spending rising 7.2 percent and alcohol up approximately 6 percent.
