Stockhouse investors were first introduced to an intriguing agritech play back in October 2019. Since that time, the Company has grown throughout North America, named a 2020 Venture 50 Company out of the 1,673 companies on TSX Venture Exchange, and earned top industry awards. And beyond North America, the Company recently announced they were granted a patent by the European Patent Office for biological fungicide.

Now, having successfully concluded Phase 2 evaluations of third-party biological products for in-licensing and revenue extension, Bee Vectoring Technologies International Inc. (BVT) (CSE.BEE, OTCMKTS: BEVVF, Forum) has reached another important milestone in its continuing effort to unlock new revenue streams.

Following Phase 1 testing of six products, BVT completed a Phase 2 proof-of-concept field trial with two biological insecticides in North America. Field trials in Europe with a third biological insecticide, in addition to a biological fungicide, are in progress and are expected to be completed by late fall 2020.

The Company says that the objective for these field trials is to confirm “successful delivery of the products to crops of interest through BVT’s natural precision agriculture dispensing systems and to assess initial product efficacy.”

In the North American trial, the biological insecticides were found to be present in the flower tissue following application, confirming that microorganisms were successfully delivered and subsequently colonized the crop through the BVT system. Furthermore, a reduction in the population of crop damaging plant bugs was observed in the crop during the course of the season – establishing the biological efficacy of these systems for managing pest pressure.

INVESTOR ALERT: These successful results from Phase 2 mean the Company can now begin discussions on contractual arrangements.

Click to enlargeCompany President and CEO Ashish Malik commented on the achievements of the landmark Phase 2 Trial:

“With the positive completion of Phase 2, BVT is a step closer to in-licensing agreements with third parties and unlocking multiple new revenue streams. The products under evaluation are already commercially available and registered in the US or the EU, which means we can get to revenue faster without completing some of the registration requirements that can be time consuming and costly. Environmentally responsible pest and disease management, in-hand with improving crop yields, are critical challenges for growers. Hence, the more biological products we can incorporate through our proprietary delivery system the broader the market acceptance and adoption, which will in turn create higher revenue potential for BVT."

About the Company

Focused on the control of diseases and pests, and the enhancement of crops by biological controls in a variety of application processes, Bee Vectoring Technologies was established with a view to providing effective protection of crops against disease organisms and insect pests…critical for achieving high yield and quality in many pollinated crops. Inadequate protection of crops can lead to major losses in yield and quality of fruit and seed. BVT possesses a patented and patent pending biological crop control and delivery system that has numerous competitive advantages over commercial pesticides and their applications.
