When it comes to cannabis, most still conjure up the images of it being smoked. But a forward-thinking company called Rapid Dose Therapeutics Corp. (RDT) (CSE: DOSE, OTC Pink: RDTCF, Forum) has developed a proprietary, patent-pending system to help support the fastest growing segment of the medical and adult-use cannabis market, smoke-free alternatives. The edibles segment of this market alone is expected to record a 22.5% CAGR and dominate $9.2 billion of the $11.8 billion market.

RDT is a Canadian biotechnology company that develops disruptive proprietary drug delivery technologies, including the QuickStrip™, which are designed to improve the consumer’s experience. Formed because of a recognized need to simplify and enhance drug delivery, the company provides product innovation, production, and consultation to the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and cannabis industries.

The main ingredient in all smoke-free cannabis products, including edibles, vape cartridges, capsules, dabs, and tinctures, is what is called distillate, which has no flavor or aroma of cannabis flower. Distillate is normally extracted from cannabis plants grown indoors or outdoors, using a variety of methods to attempt to purify the material and remove any unwanted chemicals or residues that may be harmful to the consumer.

As the need for reliable THC distillate increases to supply the demand for smoke-free products, there are concerns over supply shortages. This is where Rapid Dose Therapeutics steps in.

The Burlington, Ontario-based company, together with its research partners at Hamilton’s McMaster University, have developed a unique process to fill the void of the distillate shortages using Rapid Dose Therapeutics technology to create Ultrapure THC™ or U-THC™ for short.

This novel and proprietary process that selectively transforms CBD from hemp into Ultrapure THC distillate in mass quantities enables the cost-effective production of Ultrapure THC to be used in both the adult and medical-use cannabis markets as well as the potential to enable pharmaceutical companies to enter the market with a consistent supply of raw material or active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) that can be used to produce pharma grade products.

And here’s the kicker. RDT’s U-THC precision technology can reliably produce up to 100 to 300 kilograms of consistent Ultrapure THC distillate per day from pure CBD isolate derived from hemp when compared to other companies that are limited by the cannabis they can grow every few months.

Rapid Dose’s latest development is a patent-pending ultra-clean process which achieves U-THC with zero use of acids, heavy metals, reactive materials, or toxic substances, unlike anyone in the distillate industry. Furthermore, RDT’s process is the most cost-effective currently on the market.

What’s more, 99% of the CBD isolate is then converted into Ultrapure THC with a selective Delta 9 or Delta 8 outcome. This enables producers to scale up their manufacturing to produce products consumers want.

In tandem with this, last year Rapid Dose Therapeutics entered into an agreement with ESJ Enterprises, a subsidiary of Isolera Extracts, where the company is producing Ultrapure THC distillate using this proprietary transformation technology.

ESJ has worked with Rapid Dose Therapeutics over the past year to build a scalable process and facility that will be able to produce at least 100 kilograms of U-THC distillate per day.

Isolera Extracts and ESJ Enterprises CEO Jack Tatum, commented:

“The combined effort of RDT and ESJ has created a unique way to solve the massive and continuous supply issues facing producers in most states. We are pleased with the working relationship and the joint focus on producing Ultrapure THC products with the intent to change the THC distillate market dynamics globally. The ESJ team has the equipment and proven experience to deliver on its contracts and quality promise and will continue to expand production.”

Investor Update

Today, Rapid Dose Therapeutics is a company that works diligently to provide innovative, proprietary drug delivery technologies aimed at improving the consumer experience and patient outcomes.

Within the cannabis industry, the company’s products include its state-of-the-art QuickStrip™ proprietary cannabis delivery technology which is gaining popularity within the market through private label agreements with Thrive and Aphria with more than a million strips having been produced to date. Furthermore, RDT is expecting to receive its Health Canada cannabis sales license that will see RDT branded QuickStrip and QuickSip™ products distributed in Canadian retail locations through a distribution agreement with CannMart, a subsidiary of Namaste Technologies.

Thanks to its ground-breaking products, investors have certainly taken note of RDT. Shares of the company have skyrocketed 100% year-to-date, while year-over-year the company’s share price has risen a blistering nearly two-fold.

Given the investment metrics as is, and despite its recent share price rise, DOSE still appears to be a bargain buy. As its U-THC distillate technology is expected to take off, investors will surely be keen to see what Rapid Dose Therapeutics will do next.
