In the metals & mining space, the metaphor “Goldilocks” project or property refers to an operation, like the children’s fairy tale, that’s not too hot (over-explored) and not too cold (underexplored for economic and ROI reasons). No. What investors are looking for is one…that’s just right.

Enter Argentina Lithium & Energy Corp. (TSX-V: LIT, OTCQB: PNXLF, Forum) – a battery metals explorer and developer focused on acquiring high quality lithium projects in Argentina and advancing them towards production as the world turns to electrification and in order to meet the exploding global demand from the rechargeable battery sector, most notably for electric vehicles (EV’s). In fact, a recent study by Market Reports World stated that the global lithium market will reach a staggering USD$6.188 billion by the end of 2027 – compared to US$387.7 million in 2020

Today, Argentina Lithium stands on the technological forefront of delivery of this industrially and strategically-vital metal commodity, mining an area of over 60-thousand hectares in Argentina’s biggest and most bountiful lithium region. Its flagship projects are the Antofalla and the Incahuasi lithium projects in northwestern Argentina, smackdab in the heart of South America’s famous. ‘Lithium Triangle.’

The Antofalla Project includes a 100% interest in approximately 9,000 hectares of mining claims, plus an additional 5,380 hectares under option, located at the north-end of the Salar de Antofalla. The Incahuasi salar is in the province of Catamarca in the high plateau (Puna) region of northwestern Argentina, at an altitude of approximately 3,300 metres above sea level. The salar is located in a hyper-arid region, receiving on average less than 30 millimetres of rain per year – a necessary condition for the creation of evaporative brines.

The Lithium Triangle, including parts of northwestern Argentina, produces about half of the world's lithium and hosts approximately 60% of the known lithium reserves.

The company believes that “a combination of high geologic potential and a promising demand climate have set the conditions for delineating and advancing new lithium resources in Argentina.” At present, Argentina produces approximately 10% of the world's lithium, making it one of the top five global producers by 2020.

In the News

Adding to its expanding portfolio, Argentina Lithium & Energy recently signed a definitive agreement to acquire the 2,370-hectare Rincon West and 15,857-hectare Pocitos properties in Argentina’s Salta Province. Terms of the option include the issuance of 750,000 shares on signing, USD$500,000 worth of shares over a 12-month period and cash payments totalling USD$4,200,000 over 36 months.

On November 10th, demonstrating that institutional and private equity investors are paying attention to Argentina Lithium, the company closed the first tranche of a non-brokered private placement at a subscription price of $0.45 per unit for aggregate gross proceeds to the Company of over $2,748,000. The financing is subject to regulatory approval and all securities to be issued pursuant to the financing are subject to a four-month hold period expiring on March 10, 2022.
