BMO Bank of Montreal Celebrates 125th Anniversary of Aurora Branch

- Yonge and Wellington branch was the first BMO branch to open in Aurora

AURORA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Jan. 23, 2013) - BMO Bank of Montreal invites customers and members of the community to celebrate the 125th anniversary of its Yonge and Wellington Branch in Aurora on Friday, January 25, 2013.

BMO has been serving the needs of the Aurora community, which is celebrating its 150th Anniversary on February 3, 2013, since it established the branch in 1888.

"BMO Bank of Montreal proudly opened its first branch in Aurora when the city's population was just 2,000," said Andrew Auerbach, Senior Vice President, Greater Toronto Division, BMO Bank of Montreal. "125 years later, BMO continues to serve the financial needs of this growing community which has more than 55,000 residents and an expanding, diverse business sector."

As Aurora continues to revitalize its downtown core, a robust residential population provides support to local shops and services. The Yonge and Wellington Street corridors are expected to attract additional residents over the next few years, in part because of the close proximity to major transportation systems being implemented.

BMO's Yonge and Wellington branch offers extended banking hours which make it easier for customers to come in and talk to us about their financial needs. "With RRSP season in full-swing, we encourage everyone to drop by to learn about ways to save for retirement and ensure other financial priorities and goals stay on track," Mr. Auerbach added.
