Ericsson Research Report

Ericsson, the largest maker of wireless networks in the world, won a five-year management deal from VimpelCom Ltd to expand its services business in Russia. As part of the deal, 400 VimpelCom workers will move to Ericsson headquarters. Starting April, Ericsson will manage and service more than 10,000 base stations and 6,200 miles of fiber-optic lines for VimpelCom. As wireless carriers in Europe curb infrastructure investment, the company sells more services. Its services revenue increased 16 percent in 2012.
