OpenText Launches Latest Version of Employee File Management for SAP Solutions to Support Cloud and On-Premise Deployments

First mobile app for EFM integrates with SuccessFactors solutions - driving efficiency, reducing costs and helping HR Departments to meet compliance requirements

WATERLOO, ON, March 19, 2013 /CNW/ - OpenText™ (NASDAQ: OTEX) (TSX: OTC), the global leader in Enterprise Information Management (EIM), today announced major enhancements to its Employee File Management (EFM) software for use with SAP® solutions. The additional functionality empowers Human Resources (HR) departments, helping them to go digital and securely operate at new levels of speed and efficiency. OpenText's new EFM 4.0 integrates with solutions from SuccessFactors, an SAP company, via the new cloud connector interface feature, which helps solve growing compliance challenges associated with on-premise/hybrid environments. OpenText EFM 4.0 also now includes a mobile app, which gives business users access to employee files from anywhere and at anytime, once they have been centrally stored in EFM.

To better serve employees and attract new talent, HR teams are racing to implement systems that comprehensively manage all documentation for each employee from the day they are hired to the day they retire. Cloud-based solutions like those from SuccessFactors, enable users to run performance reviews, define goals, and digitize documents to accelerate processes and reduce costs. Many times, HR department personnel also need to maintain on-premise systems, resulting in hybrid environments that can complicate compliance and pose security risks.

OpenText's new EFM cloud connector feature addresses that issue head-on by helping to bridge the gap between cloud and on-premise environments. The solution allows users to harness the benefits of SuccessFactors' offerings and then optimally control all content in a centralized repository, which can help simplify compliance and streamline content management. OpenText EFM also provides search, document identification/classification, process automation, and workflow capabilities to eliminate many time-intensive and error-prone manual processes that currently plague HR. Users can also seamlessly import SuccessFactors forms into OpenText EFM for SAP solutions automatically without using IT resources.

Satisfying growing mobility demands, OpenText also announced a new mobile app that provides an easy-to-use interface and gives users fast access to the functionality of the OpenText EFM solution. Available on both iPad and Android devices, the app helps users securely connect to necessary resources and information in the field at anytime - a capability that is becoming increasingly important in today's fast-paced HR landscape.

"Many of our customers recognize the benefits of making their HR processes completely digital but struggle to manage content across cloud and on-premise environments," said Muhi Majzoub, OpenText's senior vice president, Engineering. "Right in line with our EIM strategy, these new EFM offerings in support of SAP solutions can help companies take full advantage of their information across the enterprise so that they can better service employees and ultimately drive business. Our strong relationships with SAP and other industry experts help us continue to deliver innovative solutions that solve key customer challenges."
