CVS Caremark Donates Over $750,000 to The One Fund Boston

Month-long in-store fundraising campaign in Boston-area CVS/pharmacy locations raises more than $650,000 to support victims of Boston Marathon attack CVS Caremark's private foundation previously donated $100,000 to The One Fund Boston

WOONSOCKET, R.I., May 14, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- CVS Caremark announced today that a month-long, in-store fundraising campaign at CVS/pharmacy locations throughout Greater Boston raised over $650,000 in donations from customers to The One Fund Boston, which was established by Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick and Boston Mayor Thomas Menino to raise money for victims and families who were affected by the attack on the Boston Marathon.

The in-store donation campaign at more than 260 Boston-area CVS/pharmacy stores ran from April 19 to May 11, during which customers could add $1, $3 or an amount of their choice to their purchase at the register. This fundraising follows a $100,000 donation to The One Fund Boston made by the CVS Caremark Charitable Trust, the private foundation of CVS Caremark.

"We sincerely thank all of our Boston customers who supported our in-store campaign for The One Fund Boston and generously made a donation to help victims and families recover from this tragedy," said Larry Merlo, President and CEO of CVS Caremark. "I also want to thank our colleagues who responded quickly to launch this fundraising campaign within a few days of the Boston Marathon."

The One Fund Boston continues to accept online donations from the public at www.onefundboston.org.
