NTT Innovation Institute Announces CEO Srini Koushik

SAN MATEO, Calif., May 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- NTT Innovation Institute, Inc. (NTT I3), a US-based, wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone Corporation (TOKYO: 9432; NYSE: NTT), the world's largest global IT and telecommunications services holding company, today announced the appointment of Srini Koushik as President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.

NTT I3 (pronounced NTT I Cube) was established on April 1 this year to accelerate the development and provision of highest-grade information security and cloud computing technologies, with an initial focus on the North American market and plans to subsequently roll out best IP solutions practices globally, including in Japan and emerging countries.

Koushik was president and CEO of Right Brain Systems, a startup aimed at transforming enterprises using cloud and mobile technologies. Prior to this, he was chief development officer for HP Enterprise Services where he led the Worldwide Strategic Enterprise Services business that focused on cloud computing, enterprise mobility, social business and business analytics. Before joining HP, he was SVP and CIO at Nationwide Insurance where he led the transformation of this financial services company over nine years through the innovative and practical use of technology. Earlier in his career he was managing principal for e-business at IBM Global Services leading the implementation of technology-enabled business solutions for clients in the financial services, retail and manufacturing industries.

Koushik was appointed an IBM Distinguished Engineer in 1998 and elected to the IBM Academy of Technology in 1999. He was also named an Elite 8 CIO by Insurance and Technology, and one of the Top 25 CTOs by Infoworld in 2004. He is a frequently invited speaker and has published several white papers and articles on a range of topics including innovation, cloud computing, business analytics and lean management. He also co-authored the best-seller Patterns for e-business in 2001.

He holds a bachelor's degree in physics from the University of Madras, a Master of Computer Applications degree from the University of Bombay, an MBA from The Ohio State University and several executive education courses from MIT's Sloan School of Management and Duke University.
