New Advanced Wi-Fi Modem delivers faster than ever speeds in the home
TORONTO, Aug. 9, 2013 /CNW/ - Rogers Communications announced today the
launch of its new Advanced Wi-Fi Modem, the company's furthest reaching
modem that delivers the most powerful Wi-Fi internet coverage in the
home. Validated by independent testing, this superior internet
experience allows customers to seamlessly connect all their devices
with greater range and blazing fast speeds.

they've told us they want a faster internet connection, no matter where

Rogers is the first carrier globally to launch the fastest 24 x 8 DOCSIS
Wi-Fi modem powered by the latest Intel® Puma™ 6MG. Manufactured by
Hitron Technologies Americas, the new modem communicates on both the
2.4GHz and 5GHz Wi-Fi frequency bands, utilizing high-powered radios to
produce a better range and higher speeds. Third-party research
conducted by Allion USA, a premiere international engineering
validation and consulting company, determined that the new Wi-Fi modem
is capable of delivering peak Wi-Fi speeds of up to 420 Mbps.
Rogers is committed to providing industry leading connected experiences.
Customers on the most popular packages now enjoy download speeds that
are at least 25 per cent faster and upload speeds that are at least
three times faster than previously offered. The newest Ultimate
Internet package delivers download speeds up to 150 Mbps - three times
faster than widely available speeds in Ontario.
Rogers Hi-Speed Internet is independently tested to deliver 100 per cent
of the internet speeds it advertises on its most popular packages. The
company was the first Canadian internet service provider to enter into
a large home-based speed testing program implemented by SamKnows - an
independent third-party broadband speed performance tester.
The Advanced Wi-Fi Modem is available for a rental fee of $12 per month
on all Rogers Hi-Speed Internet packages. Plans start at $44.49 per
month.
